I won a 3D World Forum 'Creative Challenge' with this entry, based on the Edward Hopper painting 'Drugstore'. This and 'Sun in an Empty Room' were my attempts to reinterpret his paintings and make them more realistic. Edward Hopper said "My aim in painting has always been the most exact transcription possible of my most intimate impression of nature." - he also described how he liked to allow his memory to distort a scene to enhance some aspects and hide others. I wanted to try and 'reimagine' his scenes using photoreal techniques in order to bring that impression of reality back closer to actuality, simply to see what would happen. Along with 'Sun in an Empty Room', as my skills progress I want to tackle more Hopper paintings to see where the experiment takes me.
